  • U.S. Consul General Launches Grants to Help Palestinians Further Their Education U.S. Consul General Launches New Grants

    U.S. Consul General Jake Walles formally launched the “Abraham Lincoln Incentive Grants” on June 29 during a visit to the Amideast office in Ramallah. The new grants are the first tranche of $300,000 of special funding announced by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her March visit to Ramallah.

Summer Camp Stimulates Critical Thinking in Palestinian Youth
The “Extracurricular Enrichment Day Camp” opened its doors to 110 gifted Palestinian youth from West Bank public middle schools, ages 12-16 on June 13, 2009. The U.S. government funded camp seeks to stimulate critical-thinking, build self-confidence, and prepare participants for a future in higher education.
