American Corner in Jericho Explores American history with Screening of To Kill a Mockingbird
Inspired by Black History Month, the American Corner in Jericho chose “To Kill a Mockingbird” as the latest feature in their American film series. The audience of 16 local students who are becoming aficionados of American movies, were fascinated by the story and discussed how American society has changed since the events depicted in the film. Students praised the character of Atticus, who is motivated by ideals of justice and tolerance, saying he is a role model for people of all cultures. The event was held on February 29, 2008.
