American Corner Jericho
The American Corner in Jericho is located in the Jericho Municipal Library and was formally launched in August 2006.
Programs
In 2008 American Corner Jericho held 33 events. These events included semi-monthly screenings of American films, monthly discussions of American books, Ramadan celebrations, quiz events, thematic programming around U.S. commemorative events (e.g. Black History Month, Women’s History Month, etc.), a creative writing workshop for youth, an Earth Day-inspired clean-up, training for English language teachers, presentations by USG alumni, workshops for children in artistic expression, creative writing, and theatre, and English language classes (one focused on American culture and conversation, the other a more traditional language class offered for both 10-12 year olds and 16-18 year olds). The American Corner also hosts two English ACCESS Micro-scholarship classes and an AMIDEAST Educational Advising Corner, established in November 2007 during International Education Week.
Hours of Operation
The hours are the following:
Saturday – Monday, Wednesday- Thursday from 8:00 am to 16:00 (Winter -) or to 17:00 (Summer)
Friday, 9:00 to 14:00
Tuesday: Closed
