Opening of AC Salfeet

The third American Corner in the West Bank and Gaza opened in the Salfeet Municipality on December 15, 2009. Consul General Daniel Rubinstein joined Mayor Tahseen Abu Silmi, Governor, Brigadier General Muni Abbushi, and the director of AC Salfeet, Mr. Fathi Younis, for the grand opening celebration of AC Salfeet. The American Corner is located in the Salfeet Public Library, inside the Municipality building.

Programs

A number of outreach activities are conducted as part of regularly scheduled, thematic programs offered to the public, marking major holidays, U.S. commemorative events, as well as local celebrations. Examples of recent and upcoming programs include a celebration of “America’s Great Thinkers” (January), Black History Month (February) and Women’s History Month (March). Earlier this year, to celebrate “America’s Great Thinkers,” AC Salfeet hosted the Inad Theater Group’s production of Mark Twain’s “The Prince and the Pauper.”

Everyone is welcome in American Corner Salfeet.
