Emerging American and Palestinian Political Leaders Form Ties for the Future

During a three-day visit coordinated by U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem, seven members of the American Council of Young Leaders (ACYPL) exchange organization traveled to the Palestinian Territories on a U.S. State Department-funded exchange visit.  In a quest to deepen their understanding of the region, the group met with Palestinian academics, business people, civil society and religious leaders, refugees, youths, artists, and government officials, including Palestinian President Abbas.

The delegation also met with their counterparts from the Palestinian Council of Young Political Leaders (PCYPL) and agreed to work together towards strengthening the next generation of Palestinian leaders.  Topics discussed during the visit included the current political, economic and security challenges in the Palestinian Territories.  ACYPL is a bipartisan, non-profit exchange organization dedicated to fostering relations between the next generation of American political leaders and their foreign counterparts.
