Amendments and Extensions to U.S. Passports

To facilitate access to the Consular Section, applicants for any service, including American citizens, are requested to carry only those items that are absolutely necessary.  No weapons are permitted at any time.  Electronic items must be left at the reception desk, and this is a time-consuming process that will delay your entry.  Metallic items will cause delays during screening, and all bags must be x-rayed.

Important Notice to American Citizens: Elimination of Passport Amendments

Effective October 26, 2005, in accordance with a worldwide change in passport processing, Consulate General Jerusalem will no longer amend valid U.S. passports. As of that date, U.S. citizens requesting a name change, an extension of validity for a limited passport, or the correction of a printing error must apply for replacement passports, rather than an amendment to their current passport.
