U.S. Consul General Visits Hebron

On June 12, 2007, Consul General Jacob Walles met in Hebron with the Governor of Hebron Governorate ‘Arif Al Ja’bari, the Mayor of the City of Hebron Khalid Osaily, and Palestinian Legislative Council Member Akram Haimoni. 

The Governor and Mayor briefed the Consul General on the situation in Hebron and their efforts to provide basic public services.  They also described to him the difficult situation in Hebron’s Old City.  The Consul General spoke with them about U.S. assistance programs in Hebron.  They welcomed this assistance and urged the U.S. to continue to find additional ways to support the people of Hebron.
