Consul General Statements 2010
Rosh Hashanah 2010 Greetings
As members of the Jewish faith around the world gather to celebrate the High Holidays, I want to extend my warmest wishes for this New Year.
Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mark the beginning of a new year. They are an opportunity for renewal and reconciliation – a time for repentance, reflection, and for working together toward a better future for our children.
As families and communities recite the piyyutim and hear the clarion call of the shofar, let us rededicate ourselves to the work of fighting prejudice, intolerance, and indifference, and to achieving lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians and all humankind.
On behalf of my family and the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem, L’Shanah Tovah Tikatevu ve-Tehatemu.
