U.S. Government Launches Participation in Expotech 2007, Demonstrates Commitment to Fostering U.S.-Palestinian Business Ties

Seven American Companies Will Also Participate in Ramallah Business Trade Show

For the first time, the United States Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) is hosting a booth at Expotech 2007, the largest Palestinian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) event of the year.   The FCS has also recruited seven U.S. companies that are new to the Palestinian private sector to participate in the international ICT trade show, which is held in Ramallah at al-Bireh Municipal Halls.  Expotech 2007 is also held concurrently in Gaza at the Rashad al-Shawa Halls.

United States Consul General Jacob Walles attended the Expotech 2007 opening and toured the booths of more than 50 Palestinian ICT companies participating in Expotech in Ramallah.  CG Walles joined Kamal Hassouneh, the Palestinian Minister of Public Works, Telecommunication and Economy, in officially opening the FCS booth.

U.S. government participation in Expotech 2007 is part of a wide-ranging American effort to support the development of the Palestinian private sector and to encourage American companies to conduct business in the Palestinian Territories.  Participating U.S. companies include CellAntenna Corporation, EarthWalk Communications, Inc., Newdoll Enterprises LLC, Sintel Satellite Services, Inc., SoftWright LLC, SyAM Software, Inc., Transition Networks, Inc., and Wireless Interactive Comm., Inc.  The FCS Expotech 2007 booth is also intended to encourage Palestinian businesses to network and ultimately engage in commercial activity with their American business counterparts.
