In June 2004 the G-8 Countries pledged their support to cooperate with the countries of the Broader Middle East and North Africa (BMENA) in their efforts to prmote democratic, social and economic reform. To this end, the G-8 and BMENA established the Forum for the Future -- designed to facilitate interministerial communication and support the voices of progress emanating from civil society and the business community.
