Consul General Presents Donation to Bethlehem Orphanage

Consul General Walled visited the Holy Family Orphanage in Bethlehem, where the staff briefed him on the wide-range of services provided for the children. The Consul General presented Holy Family with items donated by the U.S. Consulate, then, while speaking with local press, he re-iterated the U.S. government’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and helping meet their humanitarian needs.
"This assistance is presented by staff and families of the American Consulate in Jerusalem, who have put together an effort for collecting these donations. The U.S. government remains committed to improving the lives of the Palestinian people. And as individual Americans, we present this conation as a gesture of people-to-people contribution," Walles said.
Later that day, the Consul General met with Governor Arif Jabari of Hebron and a number of businessmen and dignitaries in the city, who briefed him on the situation in Hebron as well as the dire conditions in the Old City and Al-Ibrahimi Mosque.
