Applicants under 14 and Over 80 Years Old
Applicants under 14 and over 80 years of age are not required to schedule an interview at the Consulate. These applicants can apply for a nonimmigrant visa by submitting the following:
- A valid passport or travel document
- The confirmation page from an electronically completed Visa Application form (DS-160)
- A 5x5 cm photo (see photo requirements)
- Prior passports with proof of U.S. travel, if available.
Further information on how to submit such applications for processing is available at: http://jerusalem.usvisa-info.com.
Additional information:
- When applying for children under the age of 14 you must also send us copies of the passports of both parents (including copies of any prior U.S. visas and entry/exit stamps).
- If the children are traveling to the United States for naturalization appointments with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), please provide a copy of the children’s appointment letters with DHS.
- For children whose parents are American citizens and cannot transmit citizenship to them, please either submit a "letter of non-transmission of U.S. citizenship" from the American Citizen Services Unit of the Consulate. If such a letter is not available, the American citizen parent can provide a signed letter listing the dates that he or she lived in the United States, specifically highlighting any residency in the United States after the age of 14.
In some cases, it may be necessary to schedule an in-person interview with a consular officer. If the application is for a child under the age of 14, the child’s parents or guardian will be required to represent the child during the interview; in most cases the child will not be required to attend. If an interview is necessary, we will contact you to arrange a time.
