Notaries
General Information
The U.S. Consulate provides notarial services only for documents to be used in the United States.
This service is available throughout the week Monday - Friday except on Wednesdays, when we are closed to the public. You may also use the services of any local notary public. After your document(s) has been notarized, you must take it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to have an apostille attached.
- You must bring an original photo ID – a U.S. or foreign passport, a driver’s license, or an identity card, which shows your name as it appears on the document to be notarized. If you are signing on behalf of a corporation or other entity, you must bring proof that you are authorized in such a capacity.
- The first signature of a consular officer on a notarial costs $30 or the Shekel equivalent. Each additional signature costs $20 or the Shekel equivalent.
- Those wishing to have U.S. Savings Bonds notarized may have their signatures certified by an officer of a foreign branch of a bank or a trust company incorporated in the United States or by a bank in the United States which has the person’s signature on file. Alternatively, the Consulate provides this service for no fee.
- Certification of true copies costs $30 or the Shekel equivalent.
- All fees can be paid by cash or credit card only.
- The Consulate does not authenticate documents.
