Notarial and Other Services
Notaries, Affidavits, and Certification of Signatures for Savings Bonds
The American Citizen Services Unit of the Consulate General Jerusalem provides notarial services for those persons wishing to execute documents in the presence of a U.S. consular officer. This service is available to both American and foreign citizens who need to have documents notarized for use in the United States .
An appointment is mandatory for notarial services. Notarial appointments are available during regular public hours, Monday through Friday from 8:15AM to 11:30AM. For a notarial service appointment, please follow this link to Scheduling an Appointment.

The Consulate does not provide the following services:
- Fingerprinting
- Authentication of civil documents issued or notarized in the U.S. that you intend to use in another country (e.g. birth, marriage, death certificates) -- these require an apostille that you should obtain from the jurisdiction in the U.S. where the document was issued or notarized
- W-7 Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs)
- Medallion Signature Guarantees
- Authentication of U.S. academic credentials
- Affidavits of Support
- Certified copies of original non-U.S. documents

Requirements
In order for the Consulate to notarize a document, you must bring an original photo ID (i.e., a U.S. or foreign passport, a driver’s license, or an identity card) which shows your name as it appears on the document to be notarized. If you are signing on behalf of a corporation or other entity, you must bring proof that you are authorized in such a capacity. All documents must be filled out completely and fully before you arrive.
Fees
The fee for the first notarized signature is $30. Each additional signature costs $20. This fee may be paid in U.S. dollars (please ensure the bills are not torn) or in Israeli shekels at the current exchange rate. Payment can be made in cash or credit card only. No personal checks accepted. The Consulate certifies signatures for U.S. Savings Bonds free of charge.
