U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem celebrates Women’s History Month with a Quiz Night Event in Ramallah
In cooperation with Pal-Vision, a Palestinian NGO based in Jerusalem, US Consulate General Jerusalem organized a Quiz Night in honor of Women’s History Month at the Hamra Palace in Ramallah. The Quiz Night is part of a series of monthly events organized by Pal-Vision, made possible with a grant from the US Consulate to support thematic programming. More than 100 participants formed twelve teams and competed in what turned out to be an intense, high-energy event that lasted nearly three hours. Questions focused on prominent American and Palestinian women and the history of women’s rights in the U.S. and Arab world. Also included as part of the evening’s entertainment was a series of small skits, one of which touched upon the hypocrisy that can exist between belief and practice, as women struggle for their rights in public and in private. Women and men representing both the public and private sectors joined in the festivities, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Association of Women Committees for Social Work, English Access teachers, RUWWAD staff and members, PSD, Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation, and others.
