Consulate General Salutes Media on World Press Freedom Day
The Consulate General welcomed over 80 Palestinian journalists and media representatives to a special event in Ramallah to mark World Press Freedom Day on May 3. Consul for Press and Cultural Affairs Micaela Schweitzer-Bluhm delivered remarks praising the courage and professionalism of Palestinian journalists and encouraging them to maintain the highest of ethical standards. Multi-media screen-shows added to the festive atmosphere and provided information on U.S. policies and people. Local media expressed their appreciation for the Consulate General’s recognition of them on their special day.
