U.S. Consulate General chats with Hebron youth about Consulate Social Media
Consulate staff gave the second in a series of special presentations about the Consulate General’s new media offerings and cultural affairs programs for U.S. government funded Access English-enrichment students at Hebron University on June 18, 2009. The Consulate webmaster gave an overview of the many social media outreach tools available to Palestinian youth who want to learn more about U.S. culture and society. He invited students to engage more personally with the Consulate General by checking out Mission English and Arabic language websites, blogs, webchats, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube Mission sites. The Consulate General cultural staff encouraged students’ active participation in cultural programs and presented an award for the Consulate General’s on-line “eco-poetry” contest to one of the, very proud, student winners. Students left the session expressing interest to regularly engage with the Consulate General’s growing electronic community.
