American and Palestinian Students Nurture Ties Through Roundtable Dialogue

American students visiting Jerusalem as part of the Youth LEAD, an exchange program sponsored by the Department of State in partnership with AFS (American Field Services) Intercultural Programs and the Idaho Human Rights Education Center met with Palestinian students from various cities in the West Bank. The American and Palestinian students discussed various issues including what it means to be a teenager in their respective cultures, how to find a peaceful solution to the current political situation and the importance of open dialogue and non-violent strategies. The Consulate General’s Information Outreach Specialist also briefed students on social media available through the Consulate-General and invited students to continue their discussions through mission electronic forums.
