American Corner Utilizes “My Arabic Library” with Young Palestinians in Jericho
Sixty boys and girls ages 8 to 13 from the West Bank city of Jericho visited the American Corner in the Jericho Municipal Library to participate in a youth book group, discussing stories from Scholastic’s “My Arabic Library” collection. Stories included the titles On the Boat, The Sword in the Rock, Planet Earth, We are All Similar- We are All Different, and The Eye of the Storm. The books selected represented a variety of reading and grade levels (from 1st grade through 6th grade). Students enthusiastically shared their interpretations of the stories, and the lessons they had learned.
