U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem Connects with Youth at American Corner Jericho

U.S. Government exchange program alumni coordinator, Wejdan Jaber, and Consulate General staff met with 52 ACCESS alumni and current high school students from the West Bank city of Jericho. During the session, which took place at the American Corner in the Jericho public library, Ms. Jaber introduced the group to the official State Department Alumni website and guided them through the registration process. She stressed the importance of community service as a way for the students to give back to their communities. Mahmoud Itifat, an ACCESS and YES program alumnus, shared with students his life and experiences living and studying in the US. Consulate staff also presented information about the Consulate General’s social media and the electronic outreach tools, including Facebook and Twitter pages, and discussed other potential USG exchange programs for the students to pursue their education.
