Ramadan Kareem! U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem Kicks Off a Month of Ramadan Outreach Programming with Quiz Night
The U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem hosted its annual Ramadan Quiz Night with PALVision, a local NGO that promotes leadership for Palestinian youth. The Quiz Night was held at a popular East Jerusalem restaurant and attracted more than 150 people living in Jerusalem’s Palestinian community – families, young adults, and local community leaders – all of whom were eager to participate in the Palestinian tradition of gathering for games and activities after Iftar. The program integrated American-themed questions and awarded distinctively-American prizes to the winning teams. The Consulate's Cultural Affairs Officer opened the event with an Arabic reading of President Obama’s Ramadan Message. The evening’s activities resulted in an atmosphere that reflected Palestinian and American mutual cooperation and friendship.
