American cartoonist Daryl Cagle Meets with Palestinian Counterparts to Discuss Significance of the Political Cartoon

U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem coordinated a one-day program on October 22 for Daryl Cagle, a prominent American political cartoonist, that consisted of three separate sessions with Palestinian cartoonists. Mr. Cagle met with professional cartoonists in Ramallah, including Khalil Abu Arafeh, a renowned political cartoonist from the largest Palestinian daily, Al-Quds. Graduate students from the West Bank university of Bir Zeit, as well as a few amateur cartoonists, met with Mr. Cagle to discuss their experiences and the impact of political cartoons on public opinion.
