American Corner Jericho Launches English Classes
Responding to popular demand, the American Corner in Jericho has launched two semester-long English classes to help strengthen the English-language skills of 10th and 11th graders, as well as 5th and 6th graders. Begun in January, the weekly after-school classes now provide 30 students with the opportunity to review basic grammar concepts and vocabulary and practice using “real” English with role plays, storytelling, videos, and other fun activities. The classes function as a complement to the students’ school curriculum and encourage them to excel in their general studies as well. The student were chosen to participate in the enrichment course based on their motivation to improve their English and learn more about the United States.
