35 Environmental Clubs Form Across the West Bank Thanks to Partnerships between U.S. Consulate General, RISOL and Palestinian Authority Ministry of Education
To enhance Palestinian youth appreciation for the fragility of the environment and eco-friendly activities, the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem joined forces with local partners to establish environmental clubs in over 35 public schools in five West Bank municipalities: Bethlehem, Hebron, Nablus, Jenin, and Salfeet. The American organization Relief International-Schools Online (RISOL) and the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Education assisted in organizing the clubs that began their work with a series of 21 workshops to teach environmental awareness and eco-leadership on March 28. Participating students and teachers will also learn about club management to ensure sustainability of the clubs.
