Consulate Gives Away 6,000 Books at Palestinian International Book Fair
The Consulate sponsored a booth at this year's Palestinian International Book Fair that offered visitors free copies of displayed titles from various American-authored fiction and non-fiction classics in Arabic translation, in addition to many U.S. government publications about democracy, the environment, and the U.S. government and economy. The Consulate also distributed fee copies of Scholastic, Inc. books in Arabic to elementary school teachers visiting the fair for use in their classrooms. Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Fayyad stopped by to browse and thank Consulate staff for their participation.
