U.S. Department of State Announces Increases in Visa Application Fees

Jerusalem: The Department of State has announced an increase in non-immigrant visa application (Machine Readable Visa - MRV) fees, effective June 4, 2010. The Department is increasing fees to cover the rising cost of processing nonimmigrant visas.
The new fees will be:
- B1/B2 (business/tourism), F, M and J visas, USD 140.
- H, L, O, P, Q, R (petition-based visas), USD 150.
- E (treaty trader/investor visas), USD 390.
- K (Spouse and Fiance(e) of an American Citizen), USD 350.
Applicants who have already paid the old USD 131 fee AND have an appointment scheduled at the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem on or after June 4, 2010 must pay the difference at the Consulate General’s cashier window on the day of their visa appointment. Applicants will be interviewed once the appropriate fee is paid.
Applicants who already paid the old USD 131 fee, AND have an appointment scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv on or after June 4, 2010, may pay the difference at any post office on or before the day of their visa appointment. Applicants will be interviewed once the appropriate fee is paid.
