The U.S. Consulate General Welcomes New Consul General Daniel Rubinstein

Jerusalem

Jerusalem – Mr. Daniel Rubinstein began his tour as U.S. Consul General in Jerusalem on September 6, 2009. He previously served as Chief of the Civilian Observer Unit in the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai, Egypt.

Mr. Rubinstein served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan from 2005 to 2008. Previously, he served as Director of the Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs in the Department of State from 2004 to 2005.

He has also served in a number of other positions, including overseas tours of duty in Brasilia, Damascus, Tunis, Luanda, and Tel Aviv, as well as service with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad.

Mr. Rubinstein is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and speaks Arabic, Hebrew and Portuguese. He is married and has two children.
