US Consulate Adds American spice to Annual Ramadan Quiz Night in Jerusalem

The Consulate General Jerusalem partnered with PalVision, a local non-governmental organization for civic responsibility, to co-sponsor the organization’s annual post-Iftar dinner Ramadan Quiz Night on September 27. The Consulate added an extra dash of American spice by providing a round of American-themed questions and donating American prizes, including music CD’s, American books in Arabic, and a pro-quality basketball. American diplomats and local Consulate staff competed with local Palestinian teams of families and friends to answer questions on American culture and geography, the history of Jerusalem, and solve Arabic riddles. A local entertainment troupe complemented the traditional Ramadan sweets that were enjoyed by the standing-room-only crowd.
