Statement by Consul General Rubinstein on Hanukkah

I am pleased to send my warmest greetings to all who are celebrating Hanukkah.

As families and friends share in the joyous traditions of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, it is a fitting time to give thanks for the blessings of the past year. The universal lesson of Hanukkah is that faith gives us strength to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, and that courageous actions, large and small, can change the course of history. During this holiday season, let each of us rededicate ourselves to overcoming tyranny and oppression wherever they are found, and building coexistence, understanding, and peace.

May the joy of Hanukkah and the goodwill of the season illuminate our paths to a future of justice, compassion, and peace.
