OPEN TO: All Interested Candidates POSITION: Security Investigator – FSN - 7 OPENING DATE: May 14, 2008 CLOSING DATE: May 28, 2008 WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
NOTE: ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT APPLICANTS MUST provide proof of legal status of residency, or work permit. The U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem is seeking an individual for the position of Security Investigator in the Regional Security Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION Incumbent will provide investigative and administrative support to Foreign Service National Investigative Office as well as the Regional Security Office as a whole. The Incumbent is primarily responsible for acting as the Investigative File Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the case files for the FSNI Office. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Senior FSNI-P for any action involving investigations and counter-terrorism in the West Bank and East Jerusalem areas. Incumbent will also be solely responsible for these issues in the Senior FSNI-P’s absence. Incumbent will be called upon to assist the Sr. FSNI-P with major event planning throughout the year to ensure adequate security coverage is provided by host government.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Completion of secondary school is required. Must have a minimum of three years of progressively more responsible experience in either security, investigations (insurance, government benefits, etc.), or a position that requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills. Level IV (Fluency) in English and Arabic is required. Must have excellent knowledge of the MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Must be able to summarize and translate detailed reports and case summaries from Arabic to English and vice versa. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
SELECTION PROCESS: When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application. ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
