Security Requirements
You MUST follow these requirements or you won't get in!
To facilitate access to the Consular Section, applicants for any service, including American Citizens, are requested to carry only those items that are absolutely necessary. Failure to follow these instructions may result in the cancellation of your appointment.
All visitors to the Consulate will be required to submit to a security inspection. No weapons are permitted at the Consulate and we do not provide any weapon storage. Large bags, such as backpacks, suitcases or packages are not allowed within the Consulate. Please also do not bring mobile phones or any other electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPods, PDAs or remote-entry automobile key "fobs" to the interview as they are not allowed in the Consulate. We cannot held responsible for lost or missing items that are checked with security.
Please do not arrive at the Consulate more than 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment time.
Only applicants with appointments will be admitted into the Consulate. Exceptions will be made only if the applicant requires an interpreter or if the applicant is disabled and requires assistance. The interpreter or caretaker’s name must be on the appointment list. Local authorities will not permit anyone to wait outside the Consulate, so please do not bring anyone else with you.
We strongly suggest that you make outside childcare arrangements for your children rather than bringing them to the Consulate. Children under the age of 14 should not be brought to Consulate unless there is a specific reason for the child’s attendance such as a child’s participating in an Immigrant Visa case.
