The U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem is seeking an individual for the position of Mailroom Supervisor in the Information Management Office.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Incumbent has supervisory responsibilities over two mailroom clerks and one switchboard operator / mailroom clerk. Additionally, performs all unclassified mail room operations, messenger duties and ensures that the mail room runs IAW military postal regulations. Assists the motor pool with deliveries and pickups in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Coordinates delivery of local mail to ensure timely delivery. Serves as an alternate telephone switchboard operator in the absence of the regular switchboard operator. Performs expeditor duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

  1. Completion of Secondary School is required.
  2. A minimum of one year of mail handling experience, and one year of supervisory experience are required.
  3. Level III (good working knowledge) English and Level IV (Fluent) Hebrew are required.
  4. Must have a valid class C driver’s license.
  5. Must be eligible for an airport badge.
  6. Good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

SELECTION PROCESS:

When equally qualified, Eligible Family Members and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
  1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
  2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
  3. EFMs who currently hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of that appointment.
  4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
  5. Candidates are subject to testing for language, computer or other position related skills.
