March 7, 2008
Funerals will be held today for the victims of last night’s Yeshiva school shooting. As a result, heavy pedestrian and traffic congestion are expected in parts of the city. Consulate staff has been advised to avoid the Mount of Olives and French Hill from 11:00 AM until 2:00PM today and has been warned that traffic on Begin Road and Route One is expected to be heavy during those hours.
For the latest security information, Americans should regularly monitor the Department's web site at http://travel.state.gov/, where the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Warnings, and Travel Alerts can be found. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the U.S., or, for callers outside the U.S. and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444.
