Young Palestinian professionals Explore Personal Development in Dale Carnegie course
February 25, 2008
Greater self-confidence and invaluable tools for personal and professional development is what 19 up-and-coming Palestinian professionals confirm they took away from the 12 week course with their Dale Carnegie instructor that concluded on February 25. The participants came from a variety of sectors: government ministries, news agencies, private companies, banks, and non-governmental organizations. One Palestinian participant, who won the “highest achievement” award at the end of the class, has used the skills learned in the course to launch his own educational TV program for children. Another Palestinian participant sought and received an important promotion thanks to her newfound self-confidence and communication skills. All the participants mentioned their new network of personal and professional contacts, including Israeli participants, as an added benefit to the course. The U.S. Consulate General partnered with the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service and the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv to assist the instructor in making the course possible.
